By my count, last year Iāve helped a handful a startups and several dozen product people, from associate PMs to Heads of Products and CPOs. (Well, one CPO, two HoPs, and three startups š But over 30 product people, so all together itās certainly in the dozens). Iāve covered anything from finding PMF to growth strategy, from securing a new role to battling pernicious organisational issues.
Itās something I love doing, and want to do more of. This blog is part of this, but nothing beats sitting with a person and helping them overcome issues theyāre facing. So my question is ā how can I help you?
What this isnāt
Iām not opening up a consultancy business. I still very much enjoying ābuilding thingsā like any good product person, even if these days Iām concentrating on building the people that build the product rather than ājustā the software.
So Iām not looking to sell you any process or framework thatās just guaranteed to solve all your problems! Sorry, I donāt believe silver bullets exist.
Iām also not looking to build up a client portfolio and do this full time. This isnāt about growing an alternative source of income to switch careers.
So⦠what?
This is about helping product people become better at their craft, about startups beating the odds, and about organisations making the most of their most precious resource (people!).
This is about bring my decades in tech as a product manager, my experience from varied roles to help you get better, to overcome the issues youāre facing. Whether itās how to structure your team of teams to addressing self-doubt, I can help you.
How this works
Reach our, ideally via direct message on LinkedIn, and weāll schedule an hour to chat. Thereās no charge and no commitment, just a solid hour to think through the issues facing you. This is simply paying it forward, my contribution to making the world of product management (and hopefully the world and its people in general) better. Many have told me that this was enough to set them on the right path. Often all you need is that insight from an external, unbiased source to get you going.
If after that youād like to make this into something more, from advising your company/team to personal mentoring and coaching, we can talk and find a framework that works. Whether this is just help to get a new role (from understanding your strength and weaknesses to interview prep and salary negotiations), or helping you navigate a thorny issue, or delivering a masterclass for your team ā if I can help, why not?
